George Ceffalio
I was born in Chicago, IL and now live in the western suburb of Glen Ellyn, IL. The paintings I create are done in oil paint or watercolor. Most of my paintings start out with small sketches or a still life set up that can take many alterations before I get the right feel and look I'm trying to express. Taking a blank white surface and creating a beautiful image is my reason for being an artist. I try to mix realism and abstraction to obtain this goal. I paint on canvas or wood panel in oil paint or crescent watercolor board when painting with watercolors.
My favorite painters and illustrators are: Rembrandt, DaVinci, John Singer Sargent, Rubens, Andrew Wyeth, Norman Rockwell, David Leffel, Mike Capser, Roger Dean, William Matthews and Howard Terpning.
